Program Overview
Jessup’s fully online Master of Arts in Leadership program equips students to be transformational leaders in the marketplace and the church. As a student, you’ll gain insights and develop skills you can apply immediately at work and in ministry. Built on Christian beliefs and values, the program focuses on personal development and leadership skills. Graduates of the program bring Christ-centered leadership to churches, nonprofit organizations and businesses.
The Christian Ministry Concentration includes five courses designed to equip students for the next level of leadership in a church or parachurch ministry.
The Executive Coaching Concentration includes five courses designed to equip students to practice coaching skills in the marketplace.
For those seeking personal and professional development as transformational leaders, the Master of Arts in Leadership is an ideal program.

Courses and Requirements
Jessup’s online Master of Arts in Leadership requires 36 credit hours. The program is divided between 22 credit hours in Leadership, 10 credit hours for the Concentration, and 4 credit hours for the Capstone Project.

Capstone Project
4 CreditsThis course marks the culmination of the program, and gives the student an opportunity to synthesize their learning throughout the program into a single, life-related project. Students will demonstrate their research, communication, personal development, and leadership skills in this capstone experience.

Applying to Jessup is simple. Be sure to apply early to ensure that there is enough time between submitting your application and the start date in case additional information is needed. Below are the steps to the admissions process.

Pick a Program
Choose an online program that you’re genuinely interested in as you’ll be studying it for a few years. Also, make sure you meet the requirements for that program. Our online Master of Arts in Leadership degree has six start dates throughout the year, so you can easily begin classes when it’s convenient.

Apply
Submit your application. Be sure to include a copy of your undergrad transcript confirming at least a 3.0 GPA. If you do not have a 3.0 GPA, you should include an explanation of your prior performance and describe the experiences and skills you believe indicate your ability to succeed at the graduate level. You’ll also need to submit two letters of recommendation and a 500-word personal statement explaining why the program is valuable for your ministry. In addition, you can transfer up to nine credit hours, which must be all degree work and not life experience.

- The Executing Coaching concentration requires students to have current supervisory relationships. Applicants will need to provide the names of individuals they are supervising in an organization related to work, ministry, athletics, or volunteer service

Financial Aid
Online students receive the same financial aid options as those attending classes on campus. Students receive a dedicated financial aid officer who will guide them through all of their available financial aid options. There are several grants, scholarships and loans available.

Scholarships
New Jessup students can receive up to $2,000 per year with the Church Partnership Grant, which is reserved for candidates who attend supporting churches. Additionally, there are several privately funded scholarships available.

Prospective students who are transferring can transfer up to 25 percent, or nine, of the program’s total credit hours. The transfer credits must be from degree work and not through life experiences. Credits may come from other regionally accredited institutions.

Jessup proudly participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program to fully support our nation’s veterans. Veterans with 100-percent eligibility will have tuition and most fees completely covered. Additionally, up to $2,500 per year may be awarded to those who qualify for the U.S. Army Women’s Foundation Legacy Scholarship.
